Although that is NOT to say that nothing strange happened to me a couple days ago, when I truly believed that my diabetes was going away, as my sugar levels were almost too good to be true.
One phenomenon that I hate hit me yesterday. This is when my sugar is high and I take insulin that has almost no effect. I watch, in horror, as my blood sugar gets even higher. In a daze, I start to think of my future as a "brittle diabetic." All that sugar coursing through my viens.. i can feel the damage as it happens. I hate it.
So I take more insulin, and when that does nothing, I take a little more. Then, as if there was a switch that was turned into the off position that just got switched on, all the insulin that I have taken over the past little while hits me like a ton of bricks. BAM, down the sugar goes, fast and furious, dragging me down with it through a rampat drop that leaves me savagely hungry for the worst of all foods- carbohydrates. And not the ones that take a long time to digest- I fiend for the quick carbs, the sugars that probably go right into my blood, fuse with the insane amount of insulin that is sitting in my body and turns into fat cells.
What can I do to get the insulin working? An excersize probably is the safest bet. It even came to me when I was sitting here, but I didn't enact it. I really should have- ho, hum.
Next time.|||105968127948632245|||
