I decided today that I need to be a manager, somewhere.

Perhaps Kane can hire me as a manager, even though he just promoted Pedro (who isn't really that "in charge" as he should be). Does Kane realize this? I wonder how my hard work is paying off... he kept telling me to go out and have a fun time because I am working to hard. Its almost like I am so energetic that he wants me to slack off a bit.

My integrity is so important that I am now not even considering doing things that could damage my credibility. I confess that I used to steal from the Radison as a bartender by not ringing up drinks. It was a simple enough procedure that was completely undetectible by our horrid invintory control system. When someone paid me cash, I simply hit "no sale" and put it in the register and made change. Then at the end of the night, I took it out. I was making about twice as much money as I am now, but I am maintaining my integrity. My word is all that I have as a leader. If I say that something will be done, it MUST BE DONE. At all costs. No matter how trivial. Even a simple "i'll meet you there and such and such time" should be honored as well, because that will teach me never to make promises that I cannot keep. After a while I will simply say no, because of such and such, rather than commiting to something that I know, deep down, I cannot commit to.

I am reading about Generals and it really tickles my fanny. Generals have to be the best leaders ever. In their organizations people are dying all around them, and if they fail, more people die. Entire countries can be lost if the leader is weak. If the leader is strong however, the world can be changed. It has been said that the ability for Great Britain to hold out against the Nazis was because of the leadership of a single man- Winston Churchil. This one man provided the vision to millions of British that they could hold out. Simply amazing what leaders can do.

That said, I really need to lead. I have already started to work hard out on the front lines and keep information flowing around the resturant. Some of the small things I need to work on- details when bringing out my food, and punching orders in correctly everytime. Today I made a number of mistakes in this department, and had to get Jose to void shit or tell me that my teapot was missing a underliner. The details are pretty important to the managers, but they are missing the underlying structures for running a fast, well oiled business. They need strong leadership, someone who is tough and responsible for everything from the coke running out to having swizzles sticks in the bar.

They need me.
