Bartending for me is a massive irony.

I am very aware of my health, and have been for five/six years due to my diabetes. Recently it hit me how insanely important it is to be healthy by eating correctly (which took a while to map out with so many silly fad diets out there), to not drink, take vitamins, etc. But here I am as a bartender, serving people their slow but enevitable death.

It was yesterday, while speaking to a health insurance salesmen (one of my regular customers) that it me. I was getting into my uninsurable status (being a diabetic and all), how healthcare sucks, etc. when she started asking me if I drank and ate right, to be healthy and insurable like a good American. Of course! I responded. I thought to myself, why would I want to eat like a pig, drink myself into the gutter everynight and be bitter about my quickly dwindling life span?

I then promptly did a lap around the bar, and refilled everyone's drinks while serving a Quesadilla.
