9/23/2003 07:58:57 PM|||Travis||| Did you hear that?
That was the sound of my time being plucked away by the beginning of school. Yep. This quarter Travis is going to build himself a computer operating system, all by himself! My professor is insane, and expects us to work our asses off for his class and only his class for the quarter. It looks like I am in for the long haul and will have to hit the pause button in life for periphial stuff that is vying for my attention. Unfortunatley the game company will suffer, but such is the nature of the student entreprenuer.
In all actuality, I will probably be able to still accomplish quite a bunch of stuff. For instance, Monday marks the first day that I got an editorial published in the Nexus. I will repeat that.
My editorial was published in the Nexus. I am gloating. Take it, and like it.

I am going to update the official text in my rant section. I am also working towards a new goal- to cover my wall in text that I have written for the Nexus. I don't know why I am compelled to do this, I just want to. So it will be.
Whether or not I keep the class on compilers is totally up in the air. I hear that it might be easy, I also here that drinking special purified water can prevent death forever. I am going to have to attend and pass judgement Travis style.
I will leave with a quote from my Operating Systems professor, who is quite the quack job.
"Programming these asynchronous systems is much different from programming other kinds of applications. Asynchrony breeds race conditions which are often difficult to detect and debug. Detecting and debugging them, however, is both a skill and an art form. Thus, part of what you are learning at 4:00 in the morning the day your assignment is due is how to be an artist, illustrating the breadth of human experience that this class encompasses. "
