Almost a week now.

Up in San Fransisco for a weekend, visiting Yon. It felt like I left, and then got back because it was so damn quick. Up on a Friday and then back on a Sunday... I needed at least a week to get a feel for the place.

The best part of his apartment has to be the toilet. A series of disasters caused the main systems of the toliet to break, so that you actually have to manually load it each time you want to use it. What do I mean by "manually loading"?

You walk in and take a leak. Then when you try to flush, you realize tha there is no water in the tank to flush with. So you have to reach over to a knob that sits below and behind the toliet. You will know that you are twisting the right knob when you look down and realize that your head is almost in the bowl. Then you have to twist the knob and listen to it creak and rattle and then finally spurt out water onto a bucket underneath it. Now that you got water running, you then have to wait for the entire thing to fill up witch usually takes around 5 minutes. If you go too soon, then you run the risk of not getting it all down and having to wait for another re-fill. Finally, after it works- you have to reach back down and turn the knob off, or else the entire bathroom will flood.

And I thought that I used to live in a dump. It really makes me appreciate all the new stuff in this apartment- even now I am listen to our dishes being scrubbed by the automatic dishwasher.

Woot.
