Sweet! Ilusions of Grandeur!

My mind was filled today about Gnostic Labs and ways how to make it a cool company. First, it sucks that I can't devote more time to Gnostic Labs. I have work and school which zap my energy and steal large portions of my mindshare. Jake has it made in that respect- even though he has no money, is scrapping to get by and drives a car about as old as I am, he gets to work on Gnostic all day long.

To reiterate to myself and anyone bothering to read this, I am back in line with Gnostic and Jake. I realized that it would take too much of my life to try and start a new successful company, and that in three years I would probably be where Gnostic is now. I don't want to waste my valuable time like that, better to just team up with Gnostic now, even if I am coming on later and didn't start the company myself. So I am going to throw my back into Gnostic and see what comes of it.

So the first thing occupying my mind was this business plan competition for UCSB. Its put on every year and involves writting a business plan and then giving a speech. My brother took second place in the competition three years ago, and I am hoping that I can enter this year and win it. I wasn't part of the team time around so I think it could be kosher... I just have to convince Tim, the guy who runs it. Seeing how I am his head marketing guy right now, I doubt it will be that much of a problem.

What I was thinking about was that last speech, and how I would be standing up on the stage, demonstrating how the hardcore gamer buys games online and how an online publishing house can completly meet his needs for less. I saw myself walking back and forth across the stage, speaking without a hitch and having everyone on the edge of their seat as I talked about the gaming business and how cool our idea was and how its going to be big.

Man that was sweet.

The second thought that filled my mind was a completely crazy one, and its mainly a publicity stunt once we have a game to sell. The basic premise is this- we have a gaming/porn party!

I know, its crazy. But when you think about it, most gamers are way into porn. Pornagraphy is giving people the illusion of mating succes. Its a fatasy world where you are the MAN, you have all these beatiful women who want you. A good game is a similar type of virtual reality, where you are the man of the entire gaming world. You are important, nations depend on your beck and call and its all up to you to save the race.

That might be a weak argument, but I present it nonetheless. The more logical way of thinking about it is this- gamers watch lots of porn. Having a porn/gaming party would get MASSIVE press, like magazines, news stations, etc. The porn would like it for this reason. Gamers would hear about our game. Everyone would win.

And of course, we would get to have a porn party!
