Monkey Brains and Robot Arms

Had a ball last night with Jason, watching some vidoes and drinking a beer or two. It was a good night of kicking back and hanging out, thinking about all sorts of stuff.

First off, this monkey that learned how to control a robot arm is really interesting. We talked at length about the implications of the reaserch, and about human clinical trials that were coming close. TV remotes that are built into the brain? It could happen.

The cooler thing would to hav ea 90211b card wired into the language center of the brain, so you can get all the news from the internet... or anything else you want. The Paris Hilton video... etc. That would also allow for telepathy, as you could simply broadcast your thoughts out to the world.

Matrix here we come.

On another note, I watched the "Simple Life" and read some interviews of FOX execs who talked about the new smash hit series. They talked about the buzz behind everything and how they knew it was going to be a smash hit because of all of the press surounding it. Good PR is key is so many different areas, its insane.

He who controls the press, controls the world.
